Virat’s first novel ‘Heroes Of Wars: Men from the Future”’ came out in 2019. The book was a Sci-fi version of the Mahabharata: the greatest epic of all time! Later, Virat started discovering the Indian Sci-fi superhero scene and decided to create a platform for the Indian Sci-fi creators as well as the fans.
In spite of getting a good deal from a well-known publisher in India, Virat took the risk of to independently publish his second novel – “Vidyadhara & The Universe of Magic” under VirArt Studios. “We had to start someday, right? So why not now?” said Virat when asked about declining a deal from leading publication.
VirArt Studios is born out of a need to provide the creators with a platform and a space for all the Sci-fi lovers based in India. Virat’s second novel ‘Vidyadhara & The Universe of Magic; dives into the world of magical creatures, witches, mages, werewolves and, vampires; all of which are inspired by Indian mythology.
VirArt Studios promises to be a production house that creates more Desi Sci-Fi content in the near future years. It plans to create animated series, comics as well as live-action series. So far, they have been working with a group of talented artists, namely Doodlenerve (Shubhdeep Roy and Shiladitya Bose). The newest addition to this group is Puneet Shukla. All these amazing artists are functioning independently in their own domains i.e. designing, illustration and animation. By collaborating with VirArt Studios, they have decided to contribute whatever they can to the Indie Sci-Fi scene.
VirArt Studios has lined up with over twelve other Sci-fi superhero stories which will be coming out in the coming years.
When asked about joining another production house, Virat says “I want to give people the taste of Sci-fi that I am experiencing. I want them to vibe with the kind of elements that I have in my mind. The main reason for creating VirArt Studios apart from giving space and platform to the Sci-fi fans is to spread awareness about Indian superheroes and to give quality content to the Indian audience.”
VirArt Studios not only deals with Sci-Fi superheroes but, also re-creates epic moments from ancient Indian History and shares information about the same so that the generation can know about their own mythology, their own Indian culture which is the base of VirArt Studios’ stories, and the upcoming projects.
All the stories that would be coming are in some or the other way inspired by the Indian History. Virat says that “Indian Mythology is very rich and has several characters. Picking up even a single character can turn into a superhero arc. VirArt Studios plans to release another novel in 2023 which will again be a Sci-fi superhero novel and will have another element in it!.
